Poutine recipe with potatoes and gravy.

Magliano’s Poutine Recipe With an European Twist

Ingredients:

  • 1 kg of potatoes

  • 50 gr Smoked Hard Cheese

  • 50 gr Cheddar Cheese

  • 100 gr Mozzarella Bocconcini

  • 250 – 300 ml Magliano’s Mushroom and Onion Gravy (or any other gravy you prefer)

  • Sunflower Oil or any other seed oil (to fry the potatoes)

Instructions:

      1. Peel and cut the potatoes into thin slices for frying. Fry them for about 7 to 8 minutes into a pan or deep fryer until golden – brown and take them out and dry them on a plate lined with paper or in a strainer which will let the oil drip a lot faster. The strainer would be our suggestion!

      1. Put the fries into a heat proof bowl because it will go into the oven.

      1. Sprinkle half of the potatoes with the grated smoked and cheddar cheese and arrange on the other half the Mozzarella Bocconcini leaving enough space in between the little balls of cheese (remember they will melt!).

      1. Now you can put the bowl into your preheated oven at 220 degrees Celsius for about 5 to 10 minutes. You just want the cheese to melt down!

      1. Once the cheese is melted, take bowl out of the oven and season the top with some salt and pour your gravy on top of it.

      1. Don’t drown it in gravy! We kind of over did it in the picture… A little goes a long way. In the end it’s up to you and your taste!

Prep time: 5-10 min

Total time: 30 min

Tip: You can use just the Mozzarella Bocconcini for a more authentic Poutine since the Canadians use cheese curds for this recipe or you could just stick with the Smoked and Cheddar Cheese or just one of them! 😉

Enjoy! 🙂
